As the largest independently-operated hearing clinic in Ontario, Hearing Solutions has been servicing Ontario with hearing loss treatments since 1996. They have 27 locations across the province and pride themselves in providing first-class service.

problem + goal:

Hearing Solutions wanted a user-friendly website to increase engagement from their target audiences. Their previous site was difficult to navigate and not entirely accessible according to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act. There was a lot of great content on the site, but it was not organized or presented in a clear way. When visitors came to the website, it wasn’t clear what they should do next.

Hearing Solutions approached Leverage.it to redesign their website, helping to think through their target audiences and their journeys on the website. As well as to ensure the site is optimized for mobile and desktop use. 


Working closely with Hearing Solutions, we tailored the site to the needs of their target audiences – the users of their products, along with friends and family. The new site makes it easy and fun to learn about the company’s products, finding a location, taking online hearing tests and booking appointments. 

The old website was rich with content, which generated great organic traffic, but was hard to navigate. Our team reviewed all the various content types and proposed a new information architecture, that would re-organize the content in a way that was more accessible. A new navigation menu was proposed to match the updated information structure, prioritizing calls-to-action, but also organizing information in an intuitive way.

We added a secondary yellow colour to give the website a refresh, while maintaining the primary blue colour that is synonymous with the brand. Accessibility was top-of-mind for our designers to ensure that content was eligible for all types of audiences. A custom location finder directs users to the nearest Hearing Solution location to them. Each location has a landing page with a map, business hours, and CTAs to book appointments for each Hearing Solutions location.
